Like every year Google summer of code 2012 is going to started very shortly also in this year. Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for open source projects.This is actually the software development competition. To inspire the open source programmer and the young programmers every year google arranger this event. This competition started from 2005 and all the university students all over the world can participate in this competition, But you have to be 18 years plus old.
Since its inception in 2005, the program has brought together nearly 5,500 successful student participants and over 3000 mentors from over 100 countries worldwide, all for the love of code. Through Google Summer of Code, accepted student applicants are paired with a mentor or mentors from the participating projects, thus gaining exposure to real-world software development scenarios and the opportunity for employment in areas related to their academic pursuits
